How UK Shoppers Cut Costs at Evri

Evri provides parcel delivery and collection services for UK customers, including Standard and Next Day delivery, courier collections, ParcelShop drop-offs and automated Lockers. Its services cover postable, small and large parcels, as well as sending, collecting and returning parcels through its UK network.

This guide focuses on practical ways to reduce the total cost of sending a parcel. It explains how to compare service choices, prepare your package accurately, check available savings before payment and avoid paying for speed or convenience you do not need.

Choose the service that matches your deadline

The delivery option you select can affect the amount you pay, so begin with the required arrival time rather than automatically choosing the fastest option. Evri states that its Standard service usually takes 2–4 days, while Next Day is available for quicker delivery when the parcel is dropped at a Locker or ParcelShop before 12 noon.

Use Standard delivery when your recipient can wait. Next Day may be useful for urgent items, but choosing a faster service unnecessarily can increase the cost of the booking. Check the delivery estimate and the final price together before continuing.

Compare drop-off and collection options

Evri offers three ways to send a parcel: drop it at a ParcelShop, place it in a Locker or arrange a courier collection. The most suitable option depends on your location, schedule and parcel preparation, so compare the available choices during the booking process instead of assuming doorstep collection is the best value.

ParcelShops can be used to send, collect and return parcels. Evri says there are more than 9,000 ParcelShops across the UK, with most offering Print in ParcelShop devices. Lockers are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and can also be used for sending, collecting and returning parcels.

  • Check a nearby ParcelShop if you are already travelling past one.
  • Consider a Locker when 24/7 access is more convenient than waiting for a collection.
  • Compare courier collection if travelling to a drop-off point would add transport costs or significant time.

Measure and weigh before booking

Accurate parcel information helps you select the correct service and reduces the risk of having to change the booking later. Measure the packaged parcel, not just the item, because padding, boxes and outer wrapping all contribute to the final size. Weigh it after packaging is complete.

Use a box that protects the contents without leaving excessive empty space. Oversized packaging can make the parcel less efficient to handle, while inadequate packaging may expose the contents to damage. Keep the measurements and weight to hand when comparing the available options.

Use the right location for your routine

For occasional senders, convenience can become an indirect cost. A nearby ParcelShop may be more practical if it is close to work, a supermarket or another regular journey. A Locker may suit customers who need access outside normal shop hours. Evri describes its ParcelShops as local drop-off points and its Lockers as automated facilities located across the UK.

Search for the location before completing payment. If two options are available, consider walking distance, parking, opening access and whether you need to print a label. Most ParcelShops have Print in ParcelShop devices, allowing customers to book online and bring a QR code in-store to print the label.

Check account-based pricing carefully

Evri promotes a Frequent Seller account for customers sending parcels regularly. Its website states that cheaper pricing is applied automatically for eligible account users and that maintaining the discounts requires sending 40 or more parcels in each calendar month.

This is most relevant to frequent sellers rather than someone sending a single parcel. Before signing up or changing your booking routine, check the current account terms and whether your expected parcel volume meets the stated requirement. Do not assume that an account-based price applies to every customer or every service.

Before you pay

Review the basket and booking summary line by line. Confirm the parcel size, weight, destination, service speed, collection or drop-off method and any optional features. The final amount should be compared with the cost of making the parcel smaller, choosing Standard delivery or using a convenient drop-off point.

If the retailer offers a promotional code field at checkout, enter a relevant code before payment and check whether the total changes. If there is no code field, look for a clearly stated promotion, account price or saving in the booking summary instead. Only treat a saving as applied once the reduced total is visible before you pay.

Do not assume that multiple promotions can be combined. Unless the checkout clearly confirms otherwise, assess each offer on its own and read any displayed conditions, exclusions or expiry information.

Practical ways to keep the total down

  • Book only after confirming the parcel’s packed dimensions and weight.
  • Choose Standard delivery when a 2–4 day service meets your needs.
  • Compare ParcelShop, Locker and courier collection choices before payment.
  • Use Print in ParcelShop where available if printing at home would be inconvenient.
  • Consider whether a regular-sender account is suitable for your monthly parcel volume.
  • Check the final total after applying any eligible Evri discount codes.
  • Keep a record of the booking confirmation and selected service.

Quick checklist

  • Parcel ready: Is the item securely packaged?
  • Details checked: Are the destination, dimensions and weight correct?
  • Service compared: Is Standard sufficient, or is Next Day genuinely needed?
  • Drop-off reviewed: Have you compared a ParcelShop, Locker and collection?
  • Promotion checked: Is any saving visibly reflected in the checkout total?
  • Conditions read: Have you checked eligibility, expiry and exclusions?
  • Confirmation saved: Do you have the booking details for reference?

Where to check before booking

For a final review of available savings and current voucher information, visit the Evri discount codes page before starting your booking. Then compare any verified offer with the price shown at checkout and pay only after the total and service details are clear.
